3,532 Badges sent, 546 Badges received. Ninja Status!!!!!

I really wonder why there is a such a disparity?

If I :+fav: a piece of art from you, I will always give you a Llama Badge and some :dalove: but, if I have already given you a Llama Badge, just consider it a x2, x3, or x4 you get the picture. If I could give more than one, I would. I watch sooo many groups and individuals , by the time I made a comment for everyone I likes or :+fav:'ed, I would never be able to look at all of them. Also if I :+fav: one of your works, (look in my favourites folders). I ONLY collect what I consider the best of the best in any particular subject. I usually receive 750 to 1,000 a day. I hope you understand why I can't comment on every one. If you have any other questions, by all means, please ask.

My Experience with God

Fri Apr 21, 2017, 8:46 PM
I really do not care if you believe in God or not, this was my experience with the Almighty one fateful day back in April of 1998:

Something happened to me a week before Easter Sunday in 1998 I feel I need to share with my friends:

On the Sunday before Easter Sunday 19 years ago, I was sitting in church listening to Tom Thompson of First United Methodist Church in Abilene Texas, deliver his usual awesome sermon. Suddenly, someone taps me on the shoulder and tells me: “This is the woman I want you to marry.” I look behind me and there is no one with in earshot of me for 2 pews. I ignored the request. I was tapped again on the shoulder and told again: “THIS is the woman I want you to marry.” I looked again-no one there. I finally realize the person speaking to me is the Lord. After just getting divorced after a 10 year marriage, I said no. For the next week every time the Lord said “I want you to marry Tracy”, I said no. Many times a day, He told me and every time, I said No.

Easter Sunday 1998, we are sitting there listening to a sermon and I get tapped on the shoulder and told, “Tracy is is the woman I want you to marry.” This time I knew there was no one behind me and again, I said no. Finally, I guess, the Lord had had enough of me saying no, for instead of just tapping me on the shoulder, He literally slapped me on the side of the head and said, “Tracy IS the woman I want you to marry and I will not accept another no from you Shelton. Ask her NOW!”

First United Methodist Church had a tradition if you needed to testify or just wanted to say something in front of the church, you were allowed to. After the sermon was over I asked Brother Tom if I could say something at the benediction, he said yes. So, in front of the Lord and approx 400 people in Church on Easter Sunday 1998, I asked Tracy to be my wife. The funny this is both Tracy and I knew one very important thing at that moment: Just like in the Meatloaf song 'Two out of three ain't bad':
I want you, I need you, but there ain't no way I'm ever gonna love you'

But she said yes anyway.

I truly wanted her in my life, I truly needed her in my life, but just didn't love her. I do not know if it was because I was hesitant to open my heart again after just getting divorced or something else.

Tracy told me something soon after we were married on July 28th, 1998. She said in Jan of 1998, Jesus came down while she was in bed next to me crying thinking I would never love her, gave her a hug and told her, “Do not worry child, he will ask to marry you in 3 months.”

To sum it all up, I love my wife now like there is no tomorrow. But I think I was railroaded into getting married. Just kidding. I am so glad the Lord told me to marry my wife for I know it will last-not because of us loving each other, but because this marriage is more than me and her. It is about the three of us together as one. That is a bond which cannot be broken. Period.

I told you this story to present a song by my favorite artist, Neil Diamond, I heard last night. I dedicate it to you Tracy, and I thank you will all of my heart for saying yes when you didn't have to. I am glad you had the faith to say yes.

Play Me
By Neil Diamond

She was morning
And I was night time
I one day woke up
To find her lying
Beside my bed
I softly said
"Come take me"
For I've been lonely
In need of someone
As though I'd done
Someone wrong somewhere
I don't know where
Come lately

You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the words
I am the tune
Play me

Song she sang to me
Song she brang to me
Words that rang in me
Rhyme that sprang from me
Warmed the night
And what was right
Became me

You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the words
I am the tune
Play me

And so it was
That I came to travel
Upon a road
That was thorned and narrow
Another place
Another grace
Would save me

You are the sun
I am the moon
You are the word
I am the tune
Play me
